Save Time When You Rent Furniture

If you’ve decided to rent furniture, you may need a little help making your choices. You’ve made a smart decision for many circumstances when you choose to rent instead of buy. If you’re staging a home or setting up a temporary office, renting furniture is a good choice. The next step is to make smart choices in the pieces you choose to rent. Here are some tips to help you rent furniture the right way.

Plan your budget.

Everyone has a budget, whether it’s large or small. You need to plan out how much you are able to spend monthly without putting too much of a strain on your finances. Deciding on you budget will help you decide how many pieces and what kind of pieces you will need to rent.

Plan the space.

Once you know how much you want to spend, you will need to plan out the space you need to fill. Think about all the details, both big and small. For instance, in a bedroom don’t limit yourself to a bed and dresser. You might want bed side tables and lamps if you like to read in bed. Hardwood floors may need a big, soft rug to make winter midnight walks to the bathroom a little more bearable on bare feet.

Measure twice.

Make sure you have measurements on each room when you go to rent furniture. Don’t rely on your memory or on a rough estimate of the room. Most people have a very difficult time relating the scale of an empty room to a showroom full of vignettes. It’s very easy to end up ordering too much or too little. Graph out the spaces on a piece of paper with accurate measurements of each wall, placement of the doors and windows and an idea of where you would like to have furniture. Measure twice, just to be sure you have the numbers written down correctly. There are also plenty of free programs online you can download that will help you plan a room’s layout. Bring your measured plan with you when you rent the things you need.

Call the concierge.

Don’t be afraid to ask for some help, especially if this is your first furniture rental experience. Brook Furniture Rental has a concierge service available to walk you through the entire process from choosing your items to delivery and set up and all the way to service afterwards.

When you need to rent furniture, make sure you have a plan in place. Plan your budget and your space before you rent to avoid mix ups and mistakes. Ask for help if you need it. With a little thoughtful planning your space will look and feel perfect.
